AIQ is a free, browser-based game that teaches children and teens ages 5–18 how artificial intelligence works. It has 36 interactive lessons across 6 themed worlds, and the whole app adapts its content, visual design, and difficulty to four age groups. Think of it as AI literacy taught the way Duolingo teaches a language.
Yes. AIQ is free, ad-free, and has no premium tier or paywall. There are no in-app purchases and no data monetization. It's built and maintained as a free educational resource, and it will stay free.
AIQ covers ages 5 to 18 across four modes: Explorer (5–7), Builder (8–10), Hacker (11–14), and Architect (15–18). Each mode has its own mascot, visual style, and reading level, so the same curriculum works for a 6-year-old and a college-bound teenager.
No. A child can start learning immediately with no sign-up at all — progress is saved on their own device. An account is only needed if a teacher sets up a class: students then join with a class code, a nickname, and a 4-digit PIN. AIQ never asks a child for an email address, a real name, or a photo.
AIQ has no ads, no social features, and no way for children to contact other users. Solo play never sends anything to a server — it all stays on the device. The curriculum follows the AI4K12 "Five Big Ideas in AI" framework (AAAI/CSTA, funded by the NSF): AI foundations, how AI perceives the world, how AI learns from data, real-world AI applications, and AI ethics — bias, privacy, deepfakes, and accountability. The core philosophy is "AI-native, not AI-dependent": every lesson reinforces that kids must still think and create without relying on AI.
Yes. A teacher can create a free account, generate a class code, and track each student's lessons, quiz accuracy, and streaks from one dashboard, with the option to export progress as a spreadsheet. Yes. AIQ is browser-based and installs as a Progressive Web App, so it runs on school Chromebooks, tablets, and phones with no app-store download and no IT setup — just open aiq.ph.
AIQ is built in the Philippines, designed with developing-country connectivity and budget devices in mind from the start.
