AIQ is built for children. We collect the least data possible to make the app work, we never sell or share it, and we never use it for advertising — AIQ has no ads at all.
If your child plays without joining a teacher's class, nothing leaves the device. Display name, age group, lesson progress, XP, quiz scores, streaks, journal entries, and sound/language preferences are all stored only in the browser's local storage. There is no account, no login, and no server ever sees this data.
If a student joins a class using a code from their teacher, AIQ stores the minimum needed to make that work on our server: the nickname the student chooses, their 4-digit PIN (as a one-way cryptographic hash, never in plain text), their age group, and their lesson progress — so it can be recovered on another device and shown on the teacher's dashboard. We do not collect a student's real name, email address, date of birth, or photo, under any circumstance.
A teacher who creates an account provides an email address and a password (stored as a salted, hashed value — we never store or see the plain-text password) and, optionally, a school name. This is used only to sign in and manage that teacher's own classes.
From children, at any age: real names, email addresses, phone numbers, precise location, photos or videos, browsing history outside the app, device identifiers, or biometric data. We do not run advertising, and we do not use tracking cookies.
AIQ is designed around data minimization for children under 13: solo play sends nothing to a server at all, and the class-join flow collects only a self-chosen nickname and a hashed PIN — no personal information as defined under the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) or the Philippine Data Privacy Act (RA 10173). Because no child-identifying data is collected, no verifiable parental consent flow is required for solo play; a teacher account holder is the one who sets up and consents to a class on behalf of their students, consistent with the "school official" exception school tools commonly rely on.
The app loads fonts from Google Fonts and the Tone.js audio library from a CDN; these may log standard web request data (like IP addresses) under their own privacy policies, which AIQ does not control. An optional in-app feedback form is hosted by Google Forms and is subject to Google's privacy policy.
Solo-play data can be erased at any time from Settings → Reset Everything, or by clearing the browser's local storage. To delete a class-linked student or a teacher account, use the in-app deletion options or reach out through the feedback form.
If a feature is added that changes what we collect (for example, an AI tutor with conversation history), this policy will be updated first, and any new collection will follow the same data-minimization principle: collecting only what is strictly necessary.
